The team needs to understand atrial fibrillation, stroke risk, bleeding history and the reason long-term anticoagulation is problematic. That review can change the treatment plan before a device is selected.

Additional procedures change the estimate
If coronary angiography, another structural-heart intervention or treatment of arrhythmia is required in the same episode, the cost is not comparable with an isolated LAA closure.
Plan medication and follow-up outside Germany
Ask which antithrombotic medicines are expected after discharge and which follow-up imaging is required. These are clinical issues, but they also affect travel duration and out-of-hospital costs.
