How the estimate is created
German university hospitals generally calculate an international-patient estimate after the responsible clinical department reviews the case and defines the expected diagnostics or treatment. The estimate is provisional because the final invoice depends on the care actually delivered.

What can change the quotation
The hospital may need to price more than the angiography procedure itself.
- Pre-procedure cardiology assessment
- Laboratory testing and kidney-function assessment
- Diagnostic angiography only versus possible intervention
- Hospital observation or inpatient stay
- Additional imaging or coronary physiology testing
- Unexpected findings requiring further treatment
Ask whether PCI is part of the plan
A diagnostic angiography estimate may not include stent treatment. If the hospital may perform PCI during the same admission when clinically appropriate, ask how that possibility is handled financially before travel.
