How the estimate is created
German university hospitals generally calculate an international-patient estimate after the responsible clinical department reviews the case and defines the expected diagnostics or treatment. The estimate is provisional because the final invoice depends on the care actually delivered.
- Medical records reviewed first
- Expected treatment plan defined by the clinical team
- Administrative cost estimate prepared
- Advance payment may be required before confirmation
- Final settlement follows the actual treatment episode
What may be included in the episode
Ask the center to define the planned scope before comparing quotations.
- Electrophysiology consultation and rhythm review
- Pre-procedure imaging or laboratory testing
- Ablation procedure, mapping and catheter materials
- Anesthesia or sedation services
- Hospital observation or inpatient stay
- Post-procedure rhythm monitoring and follow-up
Do not compare price without comparing the treatment plan
AF care includes stroke prevention and broader rhythm-management decisions as well as ablation. A quotation should be interpreted alongside the clinical recommendation and planned follow-up.
